Do People Get Hooked on Smartphones?

Psychologists debate how to treat a new type of “addiction”

In a commuter train, you see around and find most of the passengers using smartphones.

Some play games, others read the latest news.

Or maybe some e-mail with their friends.

Even during working hours, some workers can hardly be apart from their smartphones.

Young mothers do not look at their babies but look at the bright screen of the phones.

Like their mothers and fathers, brothers and sisters, students too concentrate on the small screen.

Why do otherwise normal men and women do such a thing?

Their desire to look at the screen sometimes destroy their family ties, friendship, and relationship on business.

Are they addicted to smartphones?

The notion that people suffer from smartphone addiction has become one of the most hotly debated matters in psychology.

In fact, in South Korea, young people drafted cannot endure the training without their smartphones.

They have to wear a helmet-like hat covering their whole head above their necks to prevent them from communicating with smartphones.

Still, it takes more than a month to rehabilitate the youth.

Maybe, most of youngsters cannot survive without the gadget.

Smartphones are useful.

We still keep in mind that its usefulness is together with addiction.

Nobody knows what happens to us in the future.

Interestingly, many students will say, “I will be happy with my smartphone even I have to go to and stay in a no-man’s island alone.”

Don’t forget, kids! Who are you going to talk with while you are in an isolated, remote island?
