前回取り上げた、「テロと飢餓、どちらが人類にとってより大きな脅威か？」を手直しました。
ご覧いただいた、前回の英文は、２分でアウトラインを作ったので、まとまりに欠けていました。
そこで、メッセージを明確にして、リライトしてみました。
テロリズムがより大きな脅威、というスタンスは変えていません。
テロは憎悪を、飢餓は協力的な態度を生み出す、というラインも同じです。
話すことに的を絞って、工夫してみました。
Which is the greater threat to humankind, terrorism or world hunger?

I think terrorism is the greater threat for us.
World hunger will create international cooperation, while terrorism hatred.
Let me explain in detail.
In order to help the starving people, we have to contribute surplus food, such as rice, wheat and leftovers. Each nation thinks carefully and develop better food distribution system. As a result, each of us develop the cooperative spirit. World hunger has some potential to create chances for nations to hand in hand together.
Terrorism, on the contrary, creates hates among different religions, races and nations. Basically, the difference of thoughts, discrimination, and interpretation of God will trigger the violence feelings. Terrorists will realize their aim at the sacrifice of a lot of innocent people’s lives.
I know today far more people are victimized by world hunger, still terrorism will do more damage to us. That’s why I say the latter is the greater threat to us.

面接試験のスピーチは、１次の英作文と違って、完全に整ったものでなくても大丈夫です。
「理由は３つあります」と言って、実際には、二つしか触れなくても、大切である、と試験官が受け取れば、スピーチの後に、相手が質問してくれます。
冒頭で、語る内容を、おおざっぱにまとめると、質問する側にとって、とてもわかりやすい。
というわけで、スピーチの始めに、自分が何を言いたいのかを言っておくことにしましょう。
