Hi.

This is a story. One man was riding a train. How often do you ride a train? Everyday?

Well, I also come to school by train.

Last Sunday, I got on a train to go to a department store.

Do you know what a department store is? Yes, Mitsukoshi or Matsuzakaya.

So this man was going to a department store by train.

It was Sunday.

In the train, a young man was sitting in a priority seat.

What is “priority seat?”

When you get on a train, you will see a special seat for sick person or the elderly.

These are priority seats.

An old lady carrying a large bag got on, but the young man still sat there.

We often see young people sitting on priority seats. Sometimes, older people are standing in front of these younger boys or girls.

This is the situation.

I saw that and said to myself; He should give up his seat to the old woman, because it is a priority seat.

I said to myself means I thought this way.

The writer thought that the young man should give his seat to the old lady.

Why? Because he was sitting in a priority seat. A priority seat is for the elderly and sick people.

Do you give your seat to the older people in the train? Yes? Very good.
